A few years ago we saw a Frank Somerville Facebook post about a elderly woman who was feeding a colony on the East Side of San Jose and needed some help. Well we were all in, glad to help sweet Yvonne and her cats. Since then, Yvonne has become to ill to care for the cats, so a group of volunteers with GDLN have continued to feed and watch over them. Mr. Peabody was an abandoned cat in her colony. He was always so glad to see us, and Phoebe (his current foster) would feed him separately and sit with him and give him love. We finally decided we did not want to see this sweet boy on the streets any longer. We are not sure of his age, but his health is surprisingly good! He is FIV and FeLV negative and we updated all of his shots. We had his teeth cleaned and he had a few extractions. Yes he has a wonky eye. The vet feels it is an old injury and is not bothering him nor creating any medical issues for him. He spends his days as most adult (we think he is about 8 years old) cats do. Sleeping in the sun and waiting for his human to come home. He is playful and sweet.  We would like Uncle Charlie Peabody to have a home of his own. He certainly deserves one!! Do you have room in your heart and home for him? Please consider adopting an adult cat. They are so often overlooked! And more and more are being abandoned due to Covid 19.
